Cops hunt Chiang Mai rapist
Police are hunting for a man who allegedly raped at least three women in separate incidents after knocking them off their motorcycles in Chiang Mai, officials said on July 17.
The man, believed to be in his mid-20s, rode his motorcycle alongside the victims before attacking them.
The attacks took place over a month on the outer ring road at night. One of the victims, a 45-year-old woman, told police she could not see the attacker’s face as he was wearing a helmet.

Officials survive shooting
Three wildlife officials survived a gun attack on their forest protection unit in Patthalung on July 17.
The attack forced the unarmed officials to shelter in their office. The attackers later fled after trying to set fire to a nearby security guard kiosk, police said.
Police added that the attack might be linked to the seizure of forest areas which were illegally used for rubber plantations, or the dismissal of a park official who allegedly took bribes to allow forest encroachment in the park.
