Tak and Teng go crazy in love

The idea of dating a beautiful pin-up girl seems like an impossible daydream for most guys. Things would be a little easier if life was like a fairly tale, with magic spells from an angel to help make your dreams come true.

• Did you know •
The Angel Must Be Crazy also features Taks mother, Thanapa Cheepnurak, in a small role.

Youve probably seen movies with clichéd storylines like that before. But throw 42-year-old comic genius Pongsak Pongsuwan better known by his stage name, Teng Therdtherng into the mix, and things start to get interesting.

Sahamongkol Films latest comedy, Tevada Ta Ja Teng (The Angel Must Be Crazy), delivers the kind of crazy antics that Tengs fans love. In the movie, an angel bestows Kluay (Teng) with magical powers and leads him on a mission to win the heart of Fah, a famous movie star and the girl of Kluays dreams.

Fah is played by sexy 23-year-old actress Bongkoj Khongmalai (Tak), who teams up with Teng for the first time.

Student Weekly recently met up with the two stars to talk about The Angel Must Be Crazy before it hits theatres on May 1.

Student Weekly: This is the first time you guys have worked together. How did it go?

Tak: It was great. Ive been a big fan of Tengs movies for a long time. To act in a film with him is like a dream come true.

Teng: Yes, it was fun working with Tak. This movie is going to change the way people see her.

In most of Taks previous movies she plays glamorous, sexy roles, but in this film you see a beautiful, sweet and innocent Tak.

Student Weekly: Tak, youve mainly acted in thrillers and serious dramas. Was it harder to do a comedy?

Tak: It went well for me. I was worried at first because Ive never acted in a comedy before.

The director told me to just act naturally and be myself.

Student Weekly: Teng, you portray at least five different characters in this film. Did that make you confused?

Teng: Not really. I had a good time acting in this film, even though it was quite challenging.

Comedies usually dont require too much acting skill.

Student Weekly: How was it acting with Koh-tee Aramboy instead of with your usual comedian buddy Choosak Iam-sook (Nong Cha Cha Cha)?

Teng: It didnt feel any different at all.

I was excited when I was told that Id be acting with other comedian friends. I knew it would be a lot of fun.

Student Weekly: What was the most difficult scene for you guys?

Teng: When Im supposed to look like an old man. I had to use a lot of effects and cosmetics on my face and body. It was very sticky and I had to stay like that for a whole day.

Tak: For me it was the scene where Im possessed by a mysterious spirit, and I start doing crazy stuff. That was pretty hard.

Student Weekly: Besides the hilarious jokes, whats the most interesting thing about this movie?

Teng: The film teaches people that they shouldnt be greedy and to appreciate what they already have.

Tak: I think that the most interesting part of this movie is Teng. If youre a fan of Tengs films, youll love this movie.

You get to see him play a lot of different characters a cop, a rapper, a robber, an old man and even an Elvis impersonator! [Laughs.]
