Thailand's top athletes

If you're a typical teen, your parents probably spend a lot of time telling you to be a good sport. If that's the case, you could learn a lot from Thailand's top athletes. Student Weekly's top jocks are champs who know how to give it everything they've got and show us all the true sporting spirit.

Ratthapark Wilairot

Thailand's very own Grand Prix motorcycle racing star comes from a fast family - his father was a motorcycle racer, and his younger brother Ratthapong is also embarking on a racing career.

The 21-year-old Chon Buri native began his racing career at the tender age of 5. He won his first motocross trophy in the 50cc class when he was 10 years old.

Ratthapark currently races in the 250cc class for the Thai Honda PTT-SAG team.

Tamarine Tanasugarn

The top 40 list wouldn't be complete without Tamarine Tanasugarn (Tammy), Thailand's top female tennis player. This 32-year-old sporting sensation was born in Los Angeles, California. She turned pro in 1994.

Tammy has played in countless international tournaments, achieving a WTA world rank of 19 in 2002. In her successful tennis career, Tammy has beaten world No. 1 players Amelie Mauresmo, Jennifer Capriati, Jelena Jankovic and Dinara Safina. - PS
