Resident Evil: Revelations

Personally, I hate ghosts. Not because I have any 6 sense or seen any real ghosts in my life but because I believe these paranormal energies exist.

I fear that exposing myself to ghostly entertainments may make me think of ghost, spirits, devas and other paranormal things as bad beings (I always believe there are as many good ones as bad ones).

Anyway, because of my personal belief, I do not watch ghost movies, read scary novels nor play horrendous games. So, for me to grab a game such as Resident Evil, which is a game about zombies, for myself is very rare. The main reason I picked up this game was purely because many people said good things about the graphic capability in this game.

After a short period play, my graphic expectations were not let down even one bit. It has really great graphics, I dare say the best for Nintendo 3DS handheld to date. You’ll see every bit of room details, character wrinkles and so on pretty clearly, not to mention corpses and blood strains scattered all around the scenery. And that is the scary part because it’s becomes too realistic, especially when 3D is turned on, which made me jumped too often because of the dark and creepy atmosphere that the game shows.

Also, things (I’m referring to zombies and monsters) keep jumping out from corridors and dark places when I was not expecting them and you will always have a hard time surviving from being surrounded by these ‘things’.

I won’t spoil you the story of this game because it’s pretty intense and complicated. But in short, there was an outbreak of these ‘things’ on a ship and a floating city and you’ll have to fix the situation. It was also the story aspect of this game that keeps me coming back for more because things unfold bit by bit, frightfully and unexpectedly.

You’ll be fighting zombies, monsters, mutated fish and the likes along the way with whatever limited weapon you have (such as knives, short guns, machine guns, sniper guns to name a few). The scary parts of this game are that…

1. The atmosphere is dark, creepy and realistic (makes you jump easily)

2. You have limited ammo (which can get you in serious predicaments when it runs out)

3. The ‘things’ are smart and come at you when you’re not quite ready

4. You die easily (well, you’re only human, right?)

This was the first ‘Resident Evil’ game I cleared. And it was a fun (and scary) ride. This game got me glued to my small screen for more than 25 hours. Sheesh, you should try it too. I dare you!
