OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN(Premiered Mar 21) Take some hardcore action, throw in a terrorist plot, make the leader of the free world the target, and you've got yourself a winning thriller. This entertaining and adrenaline-pumping watch centres on Mike Banning (Gerard Butler), a disgraced former Presidential guard who's demoted after an accident. However when a terrorist storms the White House and captures the President (Aaron Eckhart), Banning must step up as he's the only one who has the know-how to help the security team take back the White House and rescue the President. The plot may be a bit formulaic but the suspense and drama should keep viewers hooked. Adding visual excitement is over-the-top stunts and explosions that should remind people that nobody messes with the President. Also starring Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett and Ashley Judd. Directed by Antoine Fuqua. |

MOVIE 43(Premiered Mar 21) We've all made mistakes. On the bright side, we common folk aren't scrutinised and shamed for our poor decision-making; however, the big-name celebrities that agreed to star in this flop aren't faring as well. With numerous critics calling this the "worst film ever", the likes of Kate Winslet, Hugh Jackman, Naomi Watts, Halle Berry, Emma Stone and Richard Gere may want to omit this from their resume. The crass comedy features various storylines each created by a different director, and is crudely intertwined by an overarching plot of three teenagers searching the internet for Movie 43, the most banned film in the world. Watch it if you really hate laughing for some strange reason, but don't blame us if you add this to your list of mistakes. Directed by Peter Farrelly, Elizabeth Banks, Brett Ratner and more. |
