THE JOSEPH MARCHIONE QUINTET. New Yorker, composer and sax player Joseph Marchione will be joined by guitarist Dan Phillips, saxophonist Pisut Prateepasana, bassist Tae Rogue and drummer Hong Techatananan to play Joseph's own tunes and jazz standards. (Mar 1)

THE DAN PHILLIPS QUARTET. Praised by allaboutjazz.com as "one of the most original guitarists and composers currently on the jazz scene", American jazz veteran Dan Phillips will swing out originals and unique arrangements of jazz standards. (Mar 8)

THE JERRY BYRD QUARTET. Long-time guitarist for pianist-vocalist Freddy Cole, Jerry Byrd will brings his Gibson L5 inherited from long-standing friend George Benson to strum at Niu's. (Mar 15)

THE JAKOB DINESEN QUARTET. With eight albums and three Danish Grammys, one of Denmark's top sax players Jakob Dinesen will serenade you. (Mar 22)

KEITH NOLAN'S LOVE GONE WRONG. The four-piece band will play blues grooves with a classic line-up of bass, drums, guitar, keyboards and "crushed velvet vocals". (Mar 29)

DHARMA DUO

ARCN TEMPL and Chod Live in Bangkok, Harmonica, Mar 1

A side project of Leslie and Vivian from The Observatory, ARCN TEMPL will show off their ambient, psychedelic sound art. Taking their name from a Tibetan Buddhism practice meaning cutting through the ego, Chod comprises Dharma from The Observatory and Shaun Sankaran of Dream State Vision and MFB. The duo combines spirituality and ancient chanting with analogue and electronic noise that takes one back to early man and invokes the process of purification from within.

Expect a repertoire of old and new classics when the "storytelling" jazz sensation Cynthia Utterbach takes the stage. Starting her singing career with the Utterbach Concert Ensemble with performances at Apollo Theater and Madison Square Garden in New York City, she has also played a role in the musical theatre The Buddy Holly Story and Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill in Germany. The American songstress knows how to please the crowd so indulge in her fresh approach to jazz, gospel and blues every Mon-Sat.

Conceived by French playwright Yasmina Reza, the comedy performance has been given in 30 languages and raises questions about art and friendship when three longtime friends, Serge (Michael Wykoff), Marc (Paul Wilson) and Yvan (Nimit Narula) find their previously solid 15-year friendship on shaky ground when Serge buys a large, expensive, completely white painting. The play will be performed in English.
