Hilary lifts peoples spirits and encourages them to
shine

Ask
any pilot what it feels like to fly and theyll tell you that moving freely
through the air is one of the most incredible sensations in the world. In this
weeks song, Hilary compares flying to being free and letting go. Instead of wallowing
in despair, Hilary encourages listeners to let go of yesterday and start anew.
She tries to lift peoples spirits with her inspiring lyrics: All your
worries, leave them somewhere else/ Find a dream you can follow. Being an optimist,
Hilary tells listeners to trust yourself and dont give up.
Youll
notice that there are many imperatives in this song. An imperative is a verb
that expresses an order or a command. Compare the following sentences: You
must go away and Go away. The imperative Go away has more
impact when it is used. Next time youre thinking of giving up on learning
English, listen to this tune and remember: In a moment, everything can
change.

Fly
by Hilary Duff
In a moment, everything can change
Feel the wind on your shoulder
For a minute, all the world can wait
Let go of your yesterday
Can you hear it calling
Can you feel it in your soul
Can you trust this longing
And take control
Chorus
Fly
Open up the part of you that wants to hide away
You can shine
Forget about the reasons why you cant in life
And start to try
Cause its your time
Time to fly
All your worries, leave them somewhere else
Find a dream you can follow
Reach for something when theres nothing left
And the worlds feeling hollow
Can you hear it calling
Can you feel it in your soul
Can you trust this longing
And take control
Chorus
And when youre down and feel alone
Just wanna run away
Trust yourself and dont give up
You know youre better than anyone else
In a moment, everything can change
Feel the wind on your shoulders
For a minute, all the world can wait
Let go of yesterday
Chorus
In a moment, everything can change
