Simple Plan
Still Not Getting Any
Lava Records

Already a multiplatinum success story, you wouldnt think the five guys from Simple Plan would have much more to complain about. Oh, but these Canadian pop-punk rockers have found 11 more tracks worth of things to whine about on their sophomore album Still Not Getting Any. And you know what? It sounds great. You cant help but find yourself singing along as Simple Plan use their speeding guitars, whirling drums and whining lyrics to preach about all thats wrong with the world today. Songs like Welcome to My Life, Perfect World, Me Against The World and Crazy will leave you reeling with angst about the state of society, greed and conformity. Simple Plans world may still suck, but they sure make it sound nice. Chris Blake

Pack 4
Pack 4 Vol.1
Genie Records/Music Cream/Up^G

To celebrate GMM Grammys 20th anniversary, young rockers Potato, AB Normal, Clash and Kala have joined forces to release this special album. Taking the first initial of each band, they call themselves Pack 4. For the 13 tracks, each band is responsible for taking three popular songs from yesteryear and remaking them with their own style. All four bands then come together for a cover of the classic Ying Suung Ying Nao. Younger fans whove never listened to the original versions of each song are in for a special treat. Listeners will get to hear classics like Nuvos Pen Yang Nee Tang Tae Koed Loey and Kampanis Klap Kham Sia. Each band has done a good job infusing their own style into the songs. Clash are still anchored by Banks moaning voice and AB Normal continue to demonstrate their bright and cheerful personalities. Unfortunately, this album is a bit of disappointment for fans familiar with the original songs. Sometimes its hard to improve on a good thing, and that is the case here. It seems the old school rockers could still teach these young guys a thing or two. A bit of a disappointment, but what do you expect out of a remake? Nuttaporn Srisirirungsimakul
