Did you know

SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium can hold 7,000 people.

English singer-songwriter and musician Ed Sheeran didn’t make it to Thailand during his recent X Tour, but Kriskamol Vutithum, better known as DJ Fifa, managed to catch Ed’s concert in Seoul, along with four lucky MET 107 radio listeners.

The 24-year-old DJ said that she’d been an Ed Sheeran fan for a long time, so she was thrilled to see his concert at Seoul’s SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium.

“I was so glad to see Ed Sheeran perform at a big venue,” DJ Fifa said. “I’d also never been to Seoul before, so I was excited to experience some cold weather.”

SOLO SHOW

The SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium was packed with music fans, and DJ Fifa was impressed with Ed’s fantastic solo performance.

“He performed without any back-up band, and although he sometimes used backing tracks, he mostly just played guitar and sang alone,” DJ Fifa said. “He has a great ability to entertain a large audience for two hours, and there were also some visual effects behind the stage to make the show more interesting.”

MEET AND GREET

MET 107 and Warner Music Thailand made the trip to Seoul even more special by giving DJ Fifa and the lucky listeners a chance to meet Ed Sheeran in person at a meet and greet session. The pretty DJ discovered that the British star is very friendly.

“Ed was very nice, and he asked us to take pictures together,” DJ Fifa said. “We didn’t talk to him much because we were too excited! [Laughs.] One of the listeners was so touched that she cried.”

FUN AND FOOD

During the five-day trip, DJ Fifa visited many popular tourist attractions including Seoul Tower, Trick Eye Museum, Namiseon Island and Gyeongbokgung Palace. The DJ was especially interested in the palace’s elegant architecture and seeing what Korean life was like in the past.

Aside from sightseeing, DJ Fifa enjoyed Korean food a lot.

“There were a lot of delicious dishes. I really enjoyed Samgyetang, which is chicken soup with ginseng,” she said. “The warm soup and delectable chicken was so refreshing when we were exhausted from sightseeing.”

COOL CULTURE

DJ Fifa likes to observe and learn about different cultures. When she learned how to make kimchi with the listeners, she discovered that, like Thai Chilli paste, kimchi comes in many different flavours including vegetable, squid and fish.

DJ Fifa also found that not many Korean people speak English, and that they are generally very proud of their local culture and artists.

“There was a huge crowd at Ed’s concert, but there was an even bigger crowd at a Korean performer’s concert nearby,” DJ Fifa said.

The DJ added that South Korean was a very interesting place to visit.

“I was so glad to be a part of this trip,” she said.
