The group was among the top three finalists in the seventh series of The UK X Factor TV show. After the contest, the group signed with the Syco label. One Direction rose to fame after releasing their debut single, “What Makes You Beautiful,” which reached No.1 on the UK and Irish singles charts. Their debut album sold almost half a million copies within the first five weeks of release. Their 2012 album, Take Me Home, topped many music charts around the world, including the US Billboard and the UK Albums charts. One Direction’s 2013 album, Midnight Memories, featured the international hits “Story of My Life,” “Best Song Ever” and “You and I.” The group’s fourth album, Four, features the pop hits “Steal My Girl” and “Night Changes.” It was the last album to feature all five band members, since Zayn Malik left the band at the beginning of this year. Their new single “You Drag Me Down” was another smash hit from the band. Their upcoming album, Made in the AM, is expected to be released this November.
