Ultra Dance 2015
BEC-Tero Music
Electronic dance music, or EDM, has become hugely popular in recent years. The biggest recent hits of EDM have been spread over a new 2-disc compilation, Ultra Dance 2015, including 30 original and remixed songs. Many of EDM’s biggest names, such as Steve Aoki, Calvin Harris and David Guetta, appear on the album.
The compilation opens with DJ and producer Calvin Harris and his hit single "Blame," featuring John Newman and remixed here by Jacob Plant. The track features simple one-finger synth riffs over gigantic repetitive house beats, as do the next 29 tracks.
Aside from the hit-machine DJs like Calvin Harris and Steve Aoki, there are some more traditional musicians on the compilation. Ed Sheeran’s “Don’t” is here in remixed form, as are songs from Sia and pop tart Nicole Scherzinger. Kylie Minogue even turns up, singing on house music pioneer Giorgio Moroder’s track “Right Here, Right Now.”
Overall this compilation is the perfect for your next party, if your next party is held in a massive arena full of people who don’t mind that every track they hear sounds ultra-similar. — GB
