ONE FAN LETTERMy nickname is Taa, and I'm 24 years old. This is my first e-mail to Student Weekly. I read Student Weekly when I was in high school. I read it again now. I went to the One Direction on the Road Again 2015 Tour at Rajamangala National Stadium on March 14. I like their music, and they have a unique sound that's amazing. They are pop boy-band based in London. They sang “Clouds” for the first song, and the last song they sang was “Best Song Ever.” Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson are my favourite members of the group. They have nice smiles. Niall Horan can play guitar, and he is a cutie. Liam Payne looks like he is having fun when he dances. Zayn Malik is a smart teenage boy. My friend and I danced until the show ended at about 10 pm. I was very impressed with the concert. My friend and I expect to see them in concert in Bangkok again. Metta Maichan, I'm glad you had a fun time at the concert, Taa. One Direction are certainly popular with fans all over the world, and I'm certain that the stadium was full of screaming fans. I hope you're doing OK with the recent news that Zayn is leaving the group. Thanks for reading the magazine. I hope you'll keep sending letters from time to time. — Editor |
FEAR OF FLOODING
It has been raining a lot lately in Thailand. That seems strange to me because it is still supposed to be the hot season here.
I am worried that there will be flooding again this year, like there was a few years ago. Already there has been flooding in the streets of Bangkok.
The year of the floods was scary, and I hope that does not happen again.

I've been having some of the same fears myself, Sittichai. After living through the threat of flooding a few years ago, I'm really stressed out about the possibility that we might go through that again. There's not really anything we can do about it, though, so I guess it's just better to try to live in the moment and not focus on our fears about something that won't happen. — Editor
TRUNK BUNK
I saw on Facebook that there is a club here in Thailand that has a baby elephant walking around inside of it. There are many photos of drunken people, posing with the creature. This makes me sad.
It looks to me like the baby elephant is quite scared to be there. There are many people, and it is probably very noisy there. In addition, there are photos of people riding on the back of this baby elephant. The baby is quite small, and probably shouldn't be carrying anybody.
I hope that this club stops doing this.
Pichai Bantuvachiraporn,
Bangkok
Yeah, I saw that online too, Pichai. I have really strong feelings about elephants and that story upset me. There's no reason to put innocent animals through treatment like that. The last place a baby, of any kind, belongs is a nightclub. If people want to see happy elephants in an environment where the animals are safe, comfortable and well cared for, I always suggest Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai or similar parks and sanctuaries that Thailand can be proud of. — Editor
