X-Men co-creator Stan Lee will make an appearance in the film.

Directed by Tim Miller, Deadpool is the latest superhero blockbuster from the X-Men series.

Based on the Marvel Comics tales of their most unusual anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces soldier turned mercenary Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds). Wade finds out he has terminal cancer and will soon die. A mysterious man offers to cure him, using an experimental process that will also give him superhero powers.

The experiment saves Wade but also leaves his face badly scarred. He now has huge strength and can heal from wounds quickly. He finds a red superhero suit and calls himself Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humour, he begins to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Meet a new kind of hero when Deadpool opens in local cinemas on February 11.
