Owl City make night sounds
Owl City
Mobile Orchestra
Universal Music Thailand
Owl City’s mastermind, Adam Young, is the man behind “Fireflies,” the huge single which hit No. 1 in 10 countries. Adam is back with a new album, Mobile Orchestra, which adopts the electronic dance music (EDM) trend, making it a sweet electro-pop mixture.
Adam gets things started with “Verge,” featuring Aloe Blacc, who you might know from Avicii’s big single “Wake Me Up.” “Verge” is fun and danceable, and is the appetizer to Owl City’s new style. From his previous abstract and lush sounds, he’s made a more radio-friendly and accessible Owl City.
If you’re looking for his dreamy old sounds, you can still hear them among the dance floor tempos. Adam even goes back to the ‘90s on “Unbelievable,” which features special guests Hanson. For new or old fans, it’s worth a listen. — AS
