Did you know

Prach was discovered by the famous talent scout Poj Arnon.

Prach Poramin first stepped into the limelight when he had a supporting role in the 2013 star-filled TV series, Khue Hadta Khrong Phipop (Mother’s Hand). The 22-year-old actor has continually developed his acting in different kinds of series including dramas, fantasies and sitcoms. Recently, he has been filming TV shows Fai Rak Game Ron (Love Game) and Talay Fai (Fire Sea), and has finally landed a leading role in the upcoming romantic comedy, Nang Fah Puen Foon (Angel in Disguise).

When he has time off, the young actor gets itchy feet and loves to travel and enjoy his hobby of being a shutterbug. Some of his photos can be seen on his Instagram page, @prachprm.

Student Weekly recently met up with Prach at Channel 7, where he told us about his acting and travelling, and picked three of his favourite photos to share with us.

Student Weekly: Why did you first decide to try acting?

Prach: I thought it would be a great opportunity to meet new people and make money. But acting wasn’t what I expected. I thought I could just play around, but I found that it was very difficult. I took acting classes and learned how to understand scripts, use my voice and create a character.

Student Weekly: How was working on Wai Mon Phan Asoon (Teen Monster) difficult?

Prach: In one scene I had to fight with a crocodile which was created by computer graphics. The director told me where the crocodile was and how it moved, but I had to act alone and use a lot of imagination.

Student Weekly: Can you tell us about Love Game and Fire Sea?

Prach: These two series feature the same characters. I play Pasin, whose mother is a secretary and the mistress of her boss. When the daughter of the boss finds out, she takes revenge on my family. I will have a bigger role in Fire Sea, with the actress Gunjaesal. Both series are dramatic and have a lot of emotional scenes.

Student Weekly: What kind of series do you most like to work on?

Prach: I like comedies and sitcoms, and feel relaxed when I work on them. I also like to make jokes while working to relieve stress. I learned jokes from the comedian, Gift Chuan Chuen, but when I tell them they often fall flat.

Student Weekly: As a traveller, what has been your toughest trip so far?

Prach: My friends and I backpacked from Doi Mon Jam in Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai and we missed the bus, so we decided to hitchhike. Luckily a truck driver gave us a ride. He drove very fast and we reached Chiang Rai in only two hours.

After that, we took a boat to Laos.

In Laos, we attended the opening party of a petrol station. It was interesting to see Lao people dancing in a Thai folk-style to songs by Bodyslam.

Student Weekly: When did you start to enjoy photography?

Prach: I’ve enjoyed taking photos since I was in high school. I also enjoy travelling, so I like to take photos of landscapes. For portraits, I prefer candid photography.
