This week's action-packed issue of Student Weekly is a little more music-heavy than usual, which is fine for music lovers like me. Our cover story this issue is a cute new girl group called Milkshake, who are fast-rising stars in the local pop scene.
Also featured this week is an exclusive interview with young Australian pop-punk rockers 5 Seconds of Summer, who will be performing their first ever concert in Thailand at Impact Arena on Match 8. We also have a story that pays tribute to some of the recently departed stars of the music world, including international rock icons and some local legends, all of whom left behind a wealth of amazing music.
Our CD review in this issue is the latest single by local pop crooner Boy Peacemaker, whose fans have been waiting more than a year for some new songs.
Rounding out the music theme is this week's Biographic, which is all about the eventful life of veteran American rock singer Axl Rose. Rose is best known as the singer of hard rock band Guns N' Roses, whose later-period lead guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal was incidentally playing some solo shows in Bangkok recently.
As well as music of various kinds, this issue of SW also has some tasty info on one of my other favourite subjects — food. University Tips this week features a story about the latest book from popular English celebrity chef, Jamie Oliver. While I've never really watched any of his television shows (I basically never watch TV), I've always had a soft spot for Jamie Oliver. I especially appreciate his efforts to teach people how to eat healthy food in a way that is easy, convenient, and of course delicious. Life's too short to waste time with bad food, and it doesn't take too much effort to eat well and healthily.
We hope you enjoy all the food for thought and music for your mind in this week's issue, along with all the other features that our regular readers are familiar with. So until the next issue, have a great week!
