FUN MARKETMy name is Fun. I want to talk about an interesting place in my community called Suan Plu Market. At Suan Plu Market, there are restaurants, grocery stores and food stalls with many types of delicious food. The food on offer includes Thai fried noodles, papaya salad, dumplings in coconut cream, popcorn, sweetmeat and more. The market is near Sathorn Road in Bangkok. Many people visit there around noon and in the evening. Napittinan Thaworn, Thanks for your letter, Fun. I'm not sure if I've been to that particular market, but I've been to lots of similar markets around Bangkok, and they're all great — especially the food! — Editor |
COOL KOREA
Hi, I'm Bow, and I'm a 17-year-old student. I want to talk about the time I went to South Korea at the beginning of the year.
I went to the airport at 5 pm and had dinner there. When I arrived in Korea, I went to a hotel before going out to the Myeong-dong shopping area in Seoul. In the morning I went to Changdeokgung Palace and bought souvenirs for my friends. The people in Changdeokgung were polite and friendly.
There are many foreigners in Korea. I was impressed and hope to go back there again.

South Korea sounds like a fun place to visit, Bow. It's certainly a popular destination for people visiting from Thailand. I've always liked Korean food, so I hope to one day try the real thing over there. — Editor
OK IN THE UK
My name is Manatkamol, and I'm 17. Two years ago, I went to London, England for a month. I stayed in Purley in the suburbs of London. The weather was very nice.
My hosts were named Mary and David, and they were siblings. David was a very good cook.
I enrolled in a language school there called Purley College. I studied English from 9 am till 12 pm. After class, I went into town or went to visit other places like Covent Garden, Stonehenge and Oxford University.
When we got back home, we would tell stories until dinner. After that we would go to sleep. It was the same every day until I came back to Thailand.

It sounds like you had a great experience in England, Manatkamol. Studying English there was a great idea, too, since you had plenty of locals to practise with. I haven't been to the UK for a long time but would love to go back there one of these days. Lots of people complain about the weather there, but it sounds as if you were lucky on that score. — Editor
