SW visits Ratchaburi

Aside from beautiful scenery and historical sites, Ratchaburi is famed for fine local products, particularly its quality earthen jars.
For Freeze Frame this week, SW explores some of Ratchaburi’s local goods and tourist attractions.

Those interested in traditional Thai ceramics and stoneware are encouraged to visit the Rattanakosin Ratchaburi Pottery factory, where there are numerous delicately painted pots, vases, terracotta items and traditional dragon jars on display. |
Khanon Temple in Photharam district has long nurtured the traditional Thai performance art of nang yai. The temple has dedicated a zone for locals to rehearse and hold nang yai shadow plays. |
In the area of Ban Sing there are many factories where visitors can shop for a variety of affordable dolls and toys. |
The Pasaya textile company is open for the public to explore its unique architecture and to shop for quality textile products. Visitors can also have lunch at the restaurant situated over a large lotus pond. |
Kids spend some leisure time at a public park in central Ratchaburi. The park includes the Art Normal area, the pavements of which are painted to attract visitors. |
The D Kunst art gallery and café is a popular place for visitors to see the Mae Klong River and surrounding scenic views. |
