Write on! Photographs courtesy of Bangkok Post/AP Letter of the week Write on!
I dont mean that email or SMS arent good, but when I get letters from my friends, I think they are better than a hundred emails because I can touch the letter and get a feel for what they are thinking about. I think we should spend a little more time in our busy lives to do important things for others such as sending postcards or letters. Nuttanun Soisup, Chanthaburi I agree, Nuttanun. In fact, I am a little lazy myself and rely heavily on emails. When it comes to filling in forms or writing letters, my hands are definitely out of practise. However, I cheat a little if I am writing a letter to my grandmother, I usually type it and print it rather than write. Well, its halfway there! Editor ON THE JOB
You also mentioned about the interns at Student Weekly. I didnt know until now that students could be interns on the magazine. I would love to get work experience on the magazine that Ive been reading for about three years. Ive witnessed all the changes in your magazine and Id like to be a part of it! Is there still room or is it too late too join in? Suluck Lamubol , Bangkok Hello Suluck. Thanks for the compliments and thanks for actually reading what I write. I sometimes think people skip that boring bit at the front by the editor and head straight for the horoscope or whatever. As to being an intern, we normally take one or two university students over the term breaks normally English or journalism majors. If you want to join in, send an application letter to me and Ill see what I can do for the next term break. Editor FRISKY FRIENDHi there. Im studying in M4 at Phayaopitayakom School in Phayao. I have a new friend his name is Jack. Jack is an exchange student from Australia, and he is very tall and likes soccer. He speaks English and he has green eyes and short hair. In fact, he looks like Frodo from The Lord of the Rings. I would describe Jack as frisky, funny and talkative. Phapawadee Sae-lim, Phayao Thats good to hear, Phapawadee. Make the best of having Jack around while you can practising English with a native speaker is one of the best ways you can perfect your spoken and listening skills. You can also pick up slang words, idioms and other informal uses of language. Oh, and make sure Jack learns some Thai while hes here! Editor MY EVERYTHING
Miruntee Penroj, Chai Nat Thats a nice poem Miruntee; who is it intended for? I like your weather metaphors, by the way. Editor Vocabulary witness (v): to see something happen Idiom take (something/ somebody) for granted: to not see the real value in that person or thing Your face in Student Weekly!Send us a photo with your letter and well put it in the magazine. Its that simple! Photos must not be copied from anywhere else and we cannot guarantee return of the originals, so best email them to us.

I have just seen that we will soon have to spend an extra
baht to send a letter. However, I think people mostly send messages to others
by email or SMS these days. This made me think that we are missing something
important in our lives. We love our comforts and were too busy to do things
like sending letters to friends.
Hey there Student Weekly, Im your biggest fan. My
names Suluck Lamubol. Im 16 and Im studying at Triam Udom Suksa School. Your
comments in the March 22 issue are true and I absolutely agree that teenagers
these days take money for granted. They love to spend, but they dont
know how hard it is to earn. I think that if they took part-time jobs, they
would be more responsible, considerate and thoughtful.
There are lots of people in my life
