Editors NoteA few weeks ago, I found myself negotiating Saturday morning traffic on the way to Central Lat Prao. Well, I wasnt negotiating it the taxi driver was, but you get my point. Why was I at Central Lat Prao, I hear all of you that regularly read this column ask. Shopping? Lunching with my many publishing pals? Checking out the XXL Spider-Man costumes? No, although any of those could, of course, be true on a normal Saturday morning. But on this particular Saturday I was working. You see, it was the Student Weekly Young Presenter competition and our 35th birthday party in the evening. As well as representing the magazine, I was also there in my capacity as a judge of the Young Presenter competition. To say that I went with a heavy heart would be an understatement. Saturday mornings and the subsequent afternoons, evenings and Sundays are normally reserved for the non-Student Weekly parts of my life. Well, we all need some me time. But to say that I left with a heavy heart would be wrong. Nine hours after my arrival, Id seen some dazzling young stars, seen some of the most promising young presenters in Thailand and had dined on a fantastic buffet. If anything, I left with a heavy stomach if Im honest. Id like to congratulate the winners of the contest and say a big Hello to all the readers I met at the event. Enjoy your vacation and Ill see you all again at our 40th birthday party or before. Matt
